Assignment 2-Garrett Uebelhor

First of I would probably be lost without technology, figuratively and literally. Let’s start with one of my most practical applications of technology:  to find my way. Since I went into Best buy and signed (well my mom signed) the two year contract for my smartphone the built in GPS has been my best friend.  Whether it’s going down town or going on a 600 mile road trip, it’s a life saver.  So one of the most positive ways it affects me is through mapping out my daily life; yet it does way more. The most beneficial effect: The enhanced ability to communicate with people anywhere in the world.  The other day, mid-way through the day I realized I didn't really have a ride home.  With nothing more than a slight break of the schools “no phone except at lunch” rule I had send a text to my mother and told her my usual ride could not take me home.  When you don’t focus on technology, you don’t see all it does. If I did not possess the phone (or other means of communication) I would be marooned at school. Has technology positively affected my life? Yes.
