Assignment 3 - Jacquelyn
I don’t
believe there is an absolute good and evil. Our choices may portray our moral
standards and beliefs, but that’s not always the case. Our choices can be affected
by anything from the weather, laws, bad timing, another person’s decision, etc.;
I believe it just depends on the situation, and this can be difficult to
distinguish whether someone is “good” or “evil”. For example, if a woman is
being attacked and raped and then kills her persecutor, is she considered “evil”
now or is she still “good” because she only killed him out of self defense? What
considers this woman to be “evil” would be that she committed a crime. Another
situation that’s less extreme would be someone opting to eat fast food every
day. It’s not the best decision, but does that make them “evil”? There’s no law
against eating fast food every day. There are many factors that go into someone
being “good” or “evil”. I think being “good” is making a choice that has more
positive outcomes and vice versa, and I think these are just terms to describe
someone’s choices. Honestly, it’s healthy to have both “good” and “evil”. They
balance each other out and help keep things busy.
