Assignment Three Kaylyn Torkelson

Outside of fiction, I don't believe in good versus evil. In reality, nothing is as clear cut as Harry vs. Voldemort or the Sith vs. the Jedi- that would make life much too easy. There's always a moral grey area. If Leah Kepplinger had taken that money, would that have made her a bad or evil person? What if she had donated that money to charity? Or used it to buy starving children some food? Would she still be a bad person because she had taken the money, or would she be a good person for what she did with the money she took? It's impossible to classify people as good or evil because we all do good things and we all do evil things. That's part of being human. "The news does not shy away from stories that show the moral flaws of humanity." Why? Because almost all news stories show us that humans aren't perfect. We weren't meant to be. Good and evil will always exist, but I don't believe that people can be exclusively classified as one over the other. Good is never going to overtake evil, and evil will never vanquish good. As humans, we can only try to do more good than harm in the world. In the end, there is no true battle of good versus evil.
