Assignment 4

On December 14, 2012, just 11 days before Christmas, Adam Lanza took the lives of 20 children and six adults in one of the deadliest mass-murders in American history. Before the massacre, gun control debates were occuring, but was not addressed furiously. People had opinions about guns, but it was not as important as other things that were occuring at the time.  In this photo, a woman receives news regarding her sister, a teacher at Sandy Hook. Quite understandably, this woman is breaking down at what she is hearing. Outside of the frame of the photo, reactions similar to hers were everywhere. Most of these being due to the overwhelming sense of despair being lifted as a son or daughter ran into a parents arms; while a few of them were the result of a realization that no one should ever have to experience. This event sparked a massive heated debate over gun control and regulation. Gun control became the major topic of news outlets across America, and it remained that way for months.
