Just in case that doesn't work, the review is below:
Remember the Titans, simply put, is a timeless
classic. The movie appeals to football fans as well as the average viewer,
using a football team to describe the struggles of African Americans in the 1970s
and how they overcome the race barrier. Based on a true story, this movie
follows the journey of Coach Herman Boone in coaching the newly integrated TC
Williams High School football team. Denzel Washington plays the role of the
frank, passionate coach who is not afraid to tell it how he sees it while attempting
to integrate African Americans into the program. His intensity throughout the
whole movie is mesmerizing and he churns out memorable interactions with his
players. In one such moment, Coach Boone asks his running back (Petey) after he
fumbles a ball: “How many feet are in a mile? How many feet are in a mile?”
After Petey mumbles, Boone screams at him, “5,280 feet! You pick this ball up
and run every one of em! You’re killing me, Petey! You’re killing me!” While
the plot is fairly predictable and not necessarily riveting, the movie more
than makes up for it with tense emotional moments and a likability the viewer
develops for both the players and the coaches. Overall, it is a certainly worth
seeing for people of all ages, and also sends a strong societal message to the
audience.
