16- Taylore Jordan

Prompt 1 Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds and Veritgo. I've seen The Birds a while ago, but I have a good enough memory of it to compare it to Vertigo which I happened to find upon flipping through channels this weekend. Hitchcock writes a great thriller, and for the time, they're quite "thrilling" and impressive. I admire older movies for their language and charm anyway, but by throwing in the plot twists and suspenseful events, it makes me truly appreciate the work that was put into these movies considering the time it was and the technology that was available. Both of these movies are great thrillers and kept me at the edge of my seat. Vertigo is much more of a romantic thriller, with the suspense focusing around a love interest. The Birds is more suspenseful in that there are MASSIVE KILLER BIRDS killing people (it's actually pretty gory/graphic, too, from what I remember). Each movie might appear to be "cheesy" in its own way, but we have to consider how advanced Hitchcock was for his time and how much of a genius he was.
