Assignment 16 - Katy

I wrote a review on Catching Fire on rotten tomatoes so heres the link: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_hunger_games_catching_fire/#audience_reviews

although I'm not really sure if that is going to work seeming as I can't find it every time I click on the link, so here's my post:
Being a huge Hunger Games fan, I was more than eager to see the movie. Unfortunately I had to wait an extra two days, the suspense nearly killing me. However, my friends managed not to tell me any spoilers (although I had already read the books twice), and instead kept a giggling smile.
By the time I saw the movie, I was convinced it had to be the best movie that I was going to see. And I thought the movie came pretty close. The actors were once again phenomenal in their acting, keeping true to their characters (Jennifer Lawrence especially). The graphics and technical aspects were very well done as well. I really appreciated the director's choice to stay very firm to the plot of the book and not deviate too far. In some ways I thought the movie clarified things I hadn't been able to imagine when reading the book like the wire strung around the giant tree.
Of course I didn't like the ending that much, but I didn't like the ending of the book either so those go hand in hand. I thought that the end was portrayed well, true to the book again, which is important I agree, but I suggest to somehow allude to the next movie(s) and what's going to happen just a little more. I felt like the word "cliff-hanger" got a new meaning when I saw the movie. Unlike the books when you can just jump right to the next one, I'll probably have to wait another year and a half to see the first installment of Mockingjay (a wait time that I think is a bit excessive, by the way).
All in all I love the movie and highly suggest to anyone that hasn't seen it to go out and see it TODAY. And also, if you haven't read the books, READ THE BOOKS. Even if you "don't read," these books are more than enjoyable and easy to read.
