A Day in the Life of my iPod

The alarm went off at 6:30 as usual, and with it awoke my owner, who proceeded to put my buds in his ears, do his morning routine, and head off to school. On the way, he'll pause what he's listening to, wrap my buds around his hand and bundle them up in his pocket next to me and his phone. If I'm lucky, one of his teachers will let him listen to music while he works on some tedious assignment, but odds are I'll only get played during school when he shifts his leg and accidentally hits the pause button on my side, which will cause me to play for a few minutes until he notices that the voices are coming from his pocket, upon which he'll sigh, be thankful he hasn't gone mad quite yet, and grapple with me in the pocket for a few seconds before he finds the button and manages to find the button and put me on pause again.

Once we're out of school, I come out of the pocket for a minute or two, watch my owner wrestle with the tangled wires coming out of my buds, put them in his ears again, and hit play, at which point it's back into the pocket again. In the mornings, he usually puts his music on shuffle, but for the walks home after school he nearly always listens to a podcast of some sort. Once we get home, he boots up his computer and takes out my buds. He'll listen to his music on Spotify because he doesn't have to buy it so there's a lot more there than there is on my drive. If I need to get charged he might plug me in, but I hold my battery pretty well (humblebrag).

The only time he uses me after that is for half an hour before he goes to sleep. He'll just lay in his bed in the dark, listening to music or a podcast with a 30-minute timer set. After that, we both fall asleep.
